ASTM A312 Gr TP347H is an austenitic stainless steel with chromium and nickel content that provides excellent corrosion resistance. The higher carbon content gives this material added toughness, though it results in lower strength compared to low-carbon versions. To address this, niobium is added to the TP347H composition. This alloy formulation resists most oxidizing agents, and despite the elevated carbon level, the material maintains excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion-making it ideal for high-temperature applications with significant oxidation risk.
The SS 347H seamless pipe is cold drawn and cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but it can be strengthened through cold working. The material also offers excellent weldability for fabricating custom configurations.
